Silhoeutte

This is one of the photos I took during Matt's ride on his bicycle. This is the first time I took silhouette photo. I used the banana tree as my subject.

I will post tips I learn in taking this photo.

Tita planted some tomatoes on pots and they are bearing fruits now. Glad that I got a chance to take photos of its flowers before turning into fruits.

Photography Tip: What to Shoot After the Rain?

Thinking of what to shoot after the rain? Flower? Perfect! But not only flowers gives a magical effect on photos after the rain. You can also get outside and take photos of foliage or leaves. In this example, I used the Talimun (Talimum paniculatum).

Day's End 2

We were roaming around the subdivision last Sunday with Matt when I took this photo. I love shooting sunset and sunrise. I think I already posted another sunset HERE.

Slowly But Surely

I am visiting our mini garden and I found tiny snails. You can compare its size to the ants nearby (the orange ones).

Photography Tip: When to Shoot Flowers #1

One best time to shoot flowers is right after the rain. The raindrops on petals and leaves will give a magical effect especially the water droplets reflecting the colors of the flowers.

Here is an example.

Red Roses for Valentine's Day

Tita's tiny Roses started to have flowers. Mommy told me to take photo and post it here. I refused because I didn't find it good. I was wrong, the following day, I saw another flower starting to bloom and find it beautiful so  I took a photo of it before we left for work.

Red Roses are really in demend this Valentine's Day. I remember that I gave mommy a dozen of roses many years ago but I preferred the white ones.

Pink Periwinkle

Chichirica (Catharanthus roseus Linn.)
Got this flower in our neighborhood. There are other varities of this plant but the most common color is the pink and white. I think there are also some health benefits of this plant.

Photography Tip: Take the Unusual

One tip I read from a photography book is to take photo of your subject at angle you rarely see. Shoot in a way we did not see them everyday.

Here is an example.
I used the Arctic Snow or locally known as White Angel Plant (Wrightia antidysenterica). For you, which one is a great shot?

Red Square

I am wondering why there is a single red square among the squares in this carpet. Many thought that this is a factory defect. Is that your idea too?

Hibiscus

At last I got a photo of Gumamela or Hibiscus. I know that there are many varities of the said plant. I learned that this variety, Hibiscus syriacus, is the national flower of South Korea. I will find time to take other varities.

I took different shots of the single flower applyiing something I learned in a photography book which I will share in the coming posts. Here are the photos I got.

Photo "Shot" Glass

Here's another photo of the late Christmas gift I received last week. I used my netbook case for the black background instead of editing it in photoshop.

The Expectorant

Oregano (Origanum vulgar) is one of my favorite herbal plants. Aside from lagundi, we used this to expel phlegm when we have cough and colds so I want to give honor to this plant here in my blog.
Aside from using this as herbal alternative, I dried and grind the leaves and used as herb in my kitchen adventures.

Tridax Daisy

Tridax Daisy (Tridax procumbens)
Here are the different generations of tridax procumbens flower. I can’t forget this plant because one of my classmate’s thesis is about its antibacterial property. I took this shot with my photography buddy.
