Flower Power Tuesday: Patience

Day's End 4

I really can't stop taking photos during sunset. Though I cannot directly shoot the sun, there are some views that made more dramatic by the rays of the setting sun.

Flower Power: Yellow

Here are some of yellow flowers I gathered in our vicinity. I took these photos when either in the morning or late afternoon. These are the best time to take a shot of flowers since the color is not yet affected by direct sunlight.

Portraits 1

I am now trying to capture portraits as part of my photography collections using my old Canon Ixus  70 digicam. I can sense that a new DSLR is coming. Right Mommy?LOL.

Blue Sky Background

Here are some of experiment photos. I used the natural blue sky as the main background for my subjects - posts.

Behind the Glass

I took this one while this butterfly or moth is having rest on the other side of a glass window.

Summer Time

I took this shot on the last day of February 2013 while conducting plant visit in Bamban, Tarlac. The mountain in the photo is Mount Arayat it Pampanga.

Red-Speckled Yellow Flower

Four O'Clock Flower (Mirabilis jalapa)

I was fascinated by this yellow flower. Another variety of one I posted in my Flower Power Collection. At far, you can only see this as plain yellow but with a closer look, you can see the petals with red dots.

Insects

I think using DSLR with macro lens will give more detailed image of these insects.

Day's End 2

We were roaming around the subdivision last Sunday with Matt when I took this photo. I love shooting sunset and sunrise. I think I already posted another sunset HERE.

Another Red Rose

Here's another set of red roses planted by Matt's Tita who loves planting different flowering plants using empty milk cans as her pots.

I am visiting our mini garden and I found tiny snails. You can compare its size to the ants nearby (the orange ones).

Red Roses for Valentine's Day

Tita's tiny Roses started to have flowers. Mommy told me to take photo and post it here. I refused because I didn't find it good. I was wrong, the following day, I saw another flower starting to bloom and find it beautiful so  I took a photo of it before we left for work.

Red Roses are really in demend this Valentine's Day. I remember that I gave mommy a dozen of roses many years ago but I preferred the white ones.

Pink Periwinkle

Chichirica (Catharanthus roseus Linn.)

Got this flower in our neighborhood. There are other varities of this plant but the most common color is the pink and white. I think there are also some health benefits of this plant.

Monster Flower

I got his phot during our 5S Sanitation Program Launching. It looks like a monster showing its tongue (the green one). What is the actual size?

Hibiscus

At last I got a photo of Gumamela or Hibiscus. I know that there are many varities of the said plant. I learned that this variety, Hibiscus syriacus, is the national flower of South Korea. I will find time to take other varities.

I took different shots of the single flower applyiing something I learned in a photography book which I will share in the coming posts. Here are the photos I got.

The Expectorant

Oregano (Origanum vulgar) is one of my favorite herbal plants. Aside from lagundi, we used this to expel phlegm when we have cough and colds so I want to give honor to this plant here in my blog.

Aside from using this as herbal alternative, I dried and grind the leaves and used as herb in my kitchen adventures.
