The Chair

"The political process does not end on Election Day.
Young people need to stay involved in the process
by continuing to pay attention to the conversation
and holding their leaders accountable for the decisions they make."
- Patrick Murphy

The Chair
"Leadership is not about the next election,
it's about the next generation."
- Simon Sinek

Before anything else, Happy New Year!

This year, 2016, another significant event will happen in our country. We will exercise our right to suffrage by choosing who will our next leader.

I hope that the next person to sit on the chair will have a great political will to make a change in our country's current status.

Vote Wisely!

The Nativity

"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to registered with Mary, his berthothed, who was with child.
And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for then in the inn."
Luke 2:4-7

The Nativity

The "ber" months has already started which marks the start of Holiday Season. We know the Philippines is the one with the longest celebration of Christmas compared to other countries which begins on September first and ends on January 6th after the celebration of Three Kings.

But did you know what is the official symbol of the Philippines for Christmas?

Most of us thought it was the parol or lantern since we are known to be one of the best parol makers in the world. But the correct answer is Belen or Nativity.

Do you have Belen in your home?

The Journey

"Focus on the journey, not the destination.
Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it."
Greg Anderson

The Road Barrier

There are times, I tried to pull the car over and take some shots with my camera. This is one of the traits of being a photographer.  Besides the nice places and opportunity to frame it, there are still hesitation on my part to stop and take a shot.

This road barrier is captured on my way to Tarlac. I am trying to frame the woody area beside this road but ended with this one.

Regarding the quotation above, I know that in all our journey, we look on a positive end. However, reaching the end is not always the one that make an indelible mark in our mind but the happiness that we encounter along the journey.

Happy Friday everyone!

National Shrine of Divine Mercy of Marilao

"I love you when you bow in your mosque,
kneel in your temple, pray in your church.
For you and I are sons of one religion,
and it is the spirit."
Khalil Gibran

National Shrine of Divine Mercy

It has been months since the last time we visited this particular area in this place. We only used to visit the lower area where Sunday mass is held.

Since it was Mommy’s day, we decided to pass here before heading to SM City Marilao. I was surprised because there is a big change in the interior design of the Shrine.

"Baseball is like church.
Many attend few understand."
Leo Durocher

Altar of National Shrine of the Divine Mercy

There were already paintings or murals on the ceiling of the church. The dome part of the altar is painted with “The Last Supper” while the ceiling is painted with some angels.

"Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church;
it is a goodly Christian weapon."
Martin Luther

The ceiling

What church was you visited lately?

A Failed Attempt to Frame the Lunar Eclipse

When I heard the news that Philippines will be lucky to see one of the four lunar eclipses that will happen this year until 2015, I waited for it since I haven't seen the so-called "RED MOON".

The four lunar eclipses is called Tetrad which happens on April 15, 2014, October 08, 2014, April 04, 2015 and September 28, 2015.

On October 08, I finally saw the said astronomical event and Here is a failed attempt in capturing the Lunar Eclipse. I really need a new lens. Hehehe.

Lunar Eclipse

Did you witnessed the eclipse too?

Randoms Shots Friday: The Innocent Chick

"The innocence of childhood
is like the innocence
of a lot of animals."
- Clint Eastwood

The Innocent Chick

I got this frame in one of our farm visits last month. The chick looks very calm and innocent.

Sad or What?

““Every man has his secret sorrows
which the world knows not;
and often times we call a man cold
when he is only sad.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This is taken from the Dragon Dance at SM Marilao last Chinese New Year.

Looking at the boy carrying the last post or the tail part of the dragon, he seems to be sad.

Do you think he is really sad or just tired carrying and roaming around the mall?

Random Shots Friday: The Oval

“Someone who doesn't make the (Olympic) team might weep and collapse.
In my day no one fell on the track and cried like a baby.
We lost gracefully.
And when someone won, he didn't act like he'd just become king of the world, either.
Athletes in my day were simply humble in our victory.I believe we were more mature then...
Maybe it's because the media puts so much pressure on athletes;
 maybe it's also the money.
In my day we competed for the love of the sport...
In my day we patted the guy who beat us on the back, wished him well, and that was it.”

―Louis Zamperini, Devil at My Heels: A Heroic Olympian's Astonishing Story of Survival as a Japanese POW in World War II
The Oval
I got this shot last November when we had a mini-picnic at the athletic field in my Alma Mater. This is the race track for the sprint events. This place is better known as "Oval" since this 400-m race track is shaped like an oval.

Random Shots Friday: Tap-Tap

"We are all like fireworks.
We climb, shine and always go our separate ways and become further apart.
But even it that time comes,
let's not disappear like a firework, and continue to shine...
FOREVER."

-T. Kubo (Tōshirō Hitsugaya "Bleach")

Taptap
I took this last New Year's Eve. For 5 years, we didn't bought any fireworks or firecrackers for the said event. This year, Mommy and I decided to buy some for a change.

Many rush to Bocaue in buying fireworks and firecrackers but we bought it in Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan which is a bit cheaper.

Random Shots Friday: Bahay Kubo

“If you look the right way,
you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
-Frances Hodgson Burnet, The Secret Graden

I took this in one of our visits at our hometown. This is one of the views you can see upon staying at our bahay kubo. It only proves that Nueva Ecija is still the Rice Granary of Central Luzon.

Random Shots Friday: Fallen

“Most important thing in life is learning how to fall.”
-Jeanette Walls, Half Broke Horses

I took this photo in one of my afternoon walks with Matt. These are yellow bells that scattered in street nearby. Got enhanced them by making the other parts grayscale.
