Here's another simple tip I get from Scott Kelby on when to shoot flowers. You will get a better shot of flowers early morning or late afternoon. It is recommended to shoot them right at the first hour after sunrise or and hour after sunset. Here is an example of a Bougainvillea took at around 5:45-6:00pm.
nice shot
ReplyDeletebtw, what's the difference in the time of shooting?
At these times, the colors of the flowers are not washed out by the sunlight.
DeleteNice shot, yeah. I agree that we can get a good shot in the early morning. But am not sure about the evening, unless you have a really good camera lens. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust took a photo within an hour after sunset where there is still light.
DeleteFlowers in the morning (at the time you mentioned above) looks great because of the morning dew. Great tip!
ReplyDeleteYes. Water droplets on the flowers give a magical effects too.
DeleteI know little techniques about photography. I just keep on trying all settings and shoot to see the difference. Wish I could attend a photography 101 someday. :) Nice shot. :)
ReplyDeleteWish to attend too. can you share some tips too?
Deletethank you for the tip. now all i need is a really good camera
ReplyDeleteSame here. I need to have a good camera too. I am using a digicam kasi.
DeleteOh, you're into photography pala. It's really a good hobby. Thank you for the tip as I also want to capture photos of flowers.
ReplyDeleteRecently lang. Medyo nakakahiligan.
DeleteI like the blend of colors.. parang nagliliwanag :)
ReplyDeleteAkala ko naubos na ito ni Matt. Hehe. Getting better and better Daddy :)
ReplyDeleteIt is one of my favorite flowers... so beautiful. ;-)

I think the photo is still underexposed. Maybe it's because 5:45-6 am is still quite dark nowadays because of the rainy weather unlike when the weather is normally fine.
ReplyDeleteI always shoot flowers in natural light and macro. :D
ReplyDeleteOiiiii you have a photography blog din pala Daddy Allan, nice! Nice shot, but did you use flash on this one? I guess the hours described are the golden hours right? Nice natural lighting for portraits occur around that time too, but once the sun goes down, wala na.
ReplyDeleteGood shot Daddy Allan! You're getting good at this :) Keep it up!
