Grayscale Thursday: Ocean Adventure Kids

"If a child cannot learn the way we teach,
we must teach in a way a child can learn."
-Unknown

Ocean Adventure Kids

This post is not only to show framed images I took during Matthew's field trip in Ocean Adventure but a sort of reflection too.

Yesterday, Matthew went home with many small stars and a sad face. This indicates that he did not behave well in school. Then his yaya told us that she was informed by the teacher that Matthew bit his classmates finger and hit another classmate with notebook.

As soon as I knew what he did, naiinis ako, and I want to go home right away and talk to him. But I need to control my temper and wait until got home.

Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate."

Ocean Adventure Kids

Mommy and I had to talk about it why he behaves like that lately. She sends me an article on how to discipline kids positively.

From there article, I realized that Matthew should not the one to blame on but, maybe, us. Oftentimes kasi, we used to scold and shout on him whenever he started his pagiging makulit.

We get easily lost our temper on him and there are times when he wanted to talk to us, he needs to catch our attention first.

I think the change should come from us first. Just like the quotation above, kids used to copy whatever we do and we should show them a good example to copy.

From now on, I will try to understand and discipline him in a positive way.

Flower Power Tuesday: The Tridax

"Many people have never learned to see the beauty of flowers,
especially those that grows unnoticed.
For instance, when you walk outside and look down on your feet,
you may see tiny flowers nestled in the moss
and clover hiding under a curled fern.
Most people stem on them. I paint them."
-Erika Just

The Tridax

"Where flowers bloom so does hope."
- Lady Bird Johnson

The Tridax

These flowers were framed in one of my visits in Tarlac. They look beautiful in clusters despite the fact that they are weeds and need to pull out.

As to the quotation, we used to neglect simple things that comes to ur daily life. Some of these are even  blessings that we forget to appreciate.

And for the second quotation, every flower than blooms might serves as an inspiration for us to keep on having hope.

Happy Tuesday!

Family Day Sunday: Matthew and the Sea

"The greatest gifts you can give your children
are the roots of your responsibility and
wings of independence."
- Denis Waitley

"We must teach our children
to dream with their eyes open."
- Harry Edwards

Matthew and the Sea

This is one of the random photos I took during Matthew's Educational Trip in Ocean Adventure in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

He is watching the sea and waiting for the dolphins to appear. Unfortunately, this is a pen for sea turtles.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Random Shots Friday: The Calm Sea

"You can never cross the ocean
until you have the courage
to lose sight of the shore"
 - Christopher Columbus

"Life is like an ocean.
It can be calm and still or rough and rigid.
But in the end it's always beautiful."
- Unknown

Earlier, I was looking on the content of my camera's memory card to search for some items to be deleted then I found some photos that are not yet shared here.

The above photo is taken during our recent company outing in El Pescador, Bolinao, Pangasinan. The person is another guest taking advantage by kayaking while the sea is still calm in the morning.

Happy Friday!

Grayscale Thursday: Face-To-Face

"The truth is you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow.
Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed."
- Eminem

Face-to-Face

"Being a survivor doesn't mean being strong -
it's telling people when you need a meal or a ride, company, whatever.
It's paying attention to heart wisdom, feelings, not living a role,
but having a unique, authentic life, having something to contribute,
finding time to love and laugh.
All these things are qualities of survivors."

Flower Power Tuesday: The Pitaya

"When you're doing exactly what you want to do, it's not tiring.
You've been planting these seeds, and finally, you have a full garden in bloom; you're like,
'Oh, I just want to smell the flowers and play among the flowers all day.'
That's what I'm doing. I'm playing among the flowers."
- Colman Domingo

The Pitaya (Dragon Fruit Flower)

"People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong.
Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?"
- Nhat Hanh

The Pitaya (Dragon Fruit Flower)

"It is so important to allow children to bloom and to be driven by their curiosity."
- May-Britt Moser

The Pitaya (Dragon Fruit Flower)
After two years of waiting and hoping for the my Dragon Fruit to bear fruits, finally, the first flower has bloomed.

I am looking forward to take a bite on its fruit. You can view my documentation on the development of its flower on Our Family Blogs About.

Random Shots Friday: The Nativity

"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to registered with Mary, his berthothed, who was with child.
And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for then in the inn."
Luke 2:4-7

The Nativity

The "ber" months has already started which marks the start of Holiday Season. We know the Philippines is the one with the longest celebration of Christmas compared to other countries which begins on September first and ends on January 6th after the celebration of Three Kings.

But did you know what is the official symbol of the Philippines for Christmas?

Most of us thought it was the parol or lantern since we are known to be one of the best parol makers in the world. But the correct answer is Belen or Nativity.

Do you have Belen in your home?

Flower Power Tuesday: Orange Flower

"Love is the flower of life,
and blossoms unexpectedly and without law,
and must be plucked where it is found,
and enjoyed for the brief hour of its duration."
-D.H. Lawrence

Orange Flower
This bunch of flower was taken in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna during our ocular inspection for our summer outing.

Does the quotation above means that there is no "Forever" when we speak of love?

Does it means that we must enjoy life to the fullest? oor

Does it means that you must not wait for love, it will come on the right time?

What are your thoughts about this?

Grayscale Thursday: By the Shore

"For any child, life remains a sea full of experiences
just waiting to be explored."
Natan Gendelman

By the Shore
This post is supposed to be a grayscale but I found it nicer in a sepia mode. The kid is enjoying the sea early morning.

Taken in El Pescador Hotel and Resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan.

Random Shots Friday: The Journey

"Focus on the journey, not the destination.
Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it."
Greg Anderson

The Road Barrier
There are times, I tried to pull the car over and take some shots with my camera. This is one of the traits of being a photographer.  Besides the nice places and opportunity to frame it, there are still hesitation on my part to stop and take a shot.

This road barrier is captured on my way to Tarlac. I am trying to frame the woody area beside this road but ended with this one.

Regarding the quotation above, I know that in all our journey, we look on a positive end. However, reaching the end is not always the one that make an indelible mark in our mind but the happiness that we encounter along the journey.

Happy Friday everyone!

Catherine Opie

Random Shots Friday: National Shrine of Divine Mercy of Marilao

"I love you when you bow in your mosque,
kneel in your temple, pray in your church.
For you and I are sons of one religion,
and it is the spirit."
Khalil Gibran

National Shrine of Divine Mercy

It has been months since the last time we visited this particular area in this place. We only used to visit the lower area where Sunday mass is held.

Since it was Mommy’s day, we decided to pass here before heading to SM City Marilao. I was surprised because there is a big change in the interior design of the Shrine.

"Baseball is like church.
Many attend few understand."
Leo Durocher

Altar of National Shrine of the Divine Mercy

There were already paintings or murals on the ceiling of the church. The dome part of the altar is painted with “The Last Supper” while the ceiling is painted with some angels.

"Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church;
it is a goodly Christian weapon."
Martin Luther

What church was you visited lately?

that every flower Is to bloom.”

Violet Orchids

I took these shots in a resort where one of our colleagues' wedding was held. The colors of the flowers are very vibrant and attractive. It is very relaxing looking at these flowers blooming.

was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again,
less sure about everything.
It freed me to enter
one of the most creative periods of my life."

Tamarind Sprout

"Anyone who stops learning is old,
whether at twenty or eighty.
Anyone who keeps learning stays young.
The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young."

- Henry Ford

Tamarind Leaves

Took this shot from the branch of my tamarind tree planted on a large pail. This sprouts are starting to come out few days after pruning.

I wish I can have a lot to be planted with roots grow freely and not confined in a small vessel.

Yellow Euphorbia
I missed framing flowers. Not only flowers but everything. I haven't carrying my camera for a while due to busy work schedules.

These flowers were taken during our attendance in one of our colleagues wedding. It is truly relaxing  by staring on flowers.

Have you taken some blooms lately?

Up, Up and Away Wednesday: Morning Sky

"Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky,
are best relieved by letting of a little water."
- Christopher Morley

Morning Sky

This shot is taken last week before we left home for work. We are in a rush for we might get late at work so I used my phone instead of the camera.
